SENIOR CONNECTIONS

Celebrate? Wow, did we ever on our 1st anniversary year as a senior group from Union Congregational Church. There were 31 including Pastor Tiger and Mike Flowers , our tech person taking pictures who enjoyed a great meal and fellowship at the Red Lobster.
We now have some volunteers to help me serve in some important area’s. Norma Duhamel will be our scrapbook/picture album person, Sandy and John Langford will be calling our seniors to remind them of coming events and also if they will attend, Marilynn Baker will be helping to decorate for lunches and standing in for me when I cannot be here, and last but not least Bea Lonagan and Alice Sundermeyer helping in the Parish Nurse program along with Linda Turner, Maggie  Divis ,and Marilynn Baker. There is still some areas that I would some volunteers for, so if you would like to serve, please call me at 453-3345 ext.127.
At the end of this newsletter you will find the schedule and there again why not jump in and help for after all this is your Church.

Health Fair
The Senior Connection group will be taking part in a Health Fair and would like to have all attend and bring a friend. There will be many vendors  waiting to check blood pressure, hearing, eyes, cholesterol, and other health issues ,and will also will have flu shots available.

Field Trip  For  a Day
There are plans being made to go to The Arnold Wild Life Rehabilitation Center and Butterfly Haven for a fun trip and lunch. The price is $12.00 per person which includes the gas for the vans. Please remember that we do have some walkers and a wheel chair available if anyone needs  for trips but you must get word to me before the trip. The date for this trip is Oct.19th.

Monthly  Schedule
Please stop by the Welcome Center and pick up a schedule of all the up coming events that are open to you and friends. There are two new events that I wish you would consider to attend. The first one is on Aug.10th and that is a Pizza  Party ,followed by a card party. Make up your own table of friends,bring your cards or board game and lets have some fellowship. The pizza will be sold by the slice for the sum of .50 for any kind. Let me know what you will like and I will make sure it is there for you. This is a 12:00 pm. Event.
Come Sept.14th we are having a birthday party for all who have that special day during the months of Sept. through Feb. with a covered dish lunch and a great dessert.
This year we will also have a Veterans Day lunch on Nov.16th  for $2.00 a  plate. Come and join us.

Please remember our covered dish dinner on Dec.25th Christmas Day for anyone who wants to come. Remember for any function planned I need to know if your  planning on attending. My helpers Sandy and John will call so can tell them and they will let me know.

Senior Connections
We are so fortunate that God has blessed us with good health and we are able to get out once or twice a month with good fellowship, a meal, and a program to follow so we have time to smile.
